Preparing the boys.
So we've been trying to make sure that the boys are as prepared as possible for Cameron to enter our lives and the chaos that will lead up to it. They are both beyond thrilled that Grandma Georgia and Papa are coming to visit and stay with them while Mommy & Daddy go to the hospital. I'm not sure yet how they'll do being away from us for 3 days. For those that don't remember, our hospital is almost 100 miles away and so we felt it would be best on the boys to have them in their own setting and routine, instead of being thrown into a hotel room and back and forth to the hospital for 3 days.
So we've been telling the boys that Grandma and Papa were going to stay with them for "3 sleeps" while we go to the hospital, and then we explained that the Doctor is going to cut Mommy's tummy (they've seen my scar from their C-section) and take the baby out, and then stitch me back up, and as Jackson likes to say, "fix me". Then we told them that Mommy, Daddy, AND the baby would be coming home from the hospital. They have a pretty good grip on the whole concept. We just wanted them to be prepared so they didn't freak out when Mommy had this big "owie" and we came home with a baby and such.
Jackson has enjoyed going around telling people that the Doctor is going to cut me. I really love 4 year olds.
